Selama ini jika korban dari ransomware ini ingin mengembalikan data mereka, mereka harus mebayar sejumlah dana untuk mendapatkan kata kunci yang berfungsi untuk mengembalikan data yang telah di enkripsi oleh ransomware.

Informasi yang didapatkan dari Bleeping computer, program recovery data dari ransomware ini dinamakan dengan TeslaDecoder versi 1. Program dekripsi yang ditawarkan mampu untuk mengembalikan data dari TeslaCrypt versi 3.0 dan 4.0.
